Gum Treatment

Gums or gingiva are pink, fleshy soft tissue which form a seal that protects the underlying bone and helps provide a barrier against infection. You gums provide cushioning and strength in withstanding the pressure from biting and chewing and are tightly firm to the underlying bone which helps resist the friction of food passing over them.

Periodontal (gum) disease is an infection of the tissues that surrounds the teeth typically caused by “poor brushing and flossing habits” that allows the build-up of plaque (sticky and colorless) on teeth and when it hardens it becomes tartar, it cannot be removed easily and only a professional teeth cleaning can be done. In advanced cases, periodontal diseases can lead to sore and bleeding gums painful chewing problems and even tooth loss. Fortunately, gum disease can be reversed if caught and treated early.

Our Highly Skilled Periodontist will assist you with proper information, the wide array of treatment options and assist in further prevention of the gum diseases.
